In our English 104 class, we watch our lessons through cable TV to keep us engaged. We have a journal to take notes and help the creative writing process. I have created quite a display of ideas and notes through this journal.
Why I chose this project?
I chose this project because it perfectly displays how my mind can take information from the outside world and process it to create, fun and engaging stories/poetry. Our professor made sure to emphasize that journaling our ideas and not putting restrictions on them allows us to create the most amazing stories.
21st Century Skills
The 21st-century skills I use are self-directional skills because this course is entirely self-engaged, and to keep myself on track, I must work on these journal pages. It isn’t easy sometimes to make sure I am staying on the right path, but by doing these journal entries it helps me to keep myself accountable.
Demonstration of Growth
This journal demonstrates my growth because you can see how much I’ve learned from just the first journal entry to my most recent, and you can see how, as a writer and person, I’ve grown. I’ve learned a lot within this class, just within this first quarter, and it’s cool that I can look back on old pages and see how I’ve overcome specific challenges.
How I could Improve?
I could improve on keeping my pages more organized because sometimes when I go back into reading my notes, it’s hard to organize them into a proper thought. In the future, I plan to make my thoughts more sectioned.
