I became a member of the National Honors Society this year. I work incredibly hard and it was amazing to be recognized for my ambition. National Honor Society is very humbling because we have to achieve 10 hours of community service in a semester, and it's allowed me to take part in some amazing non-profits that truly make a positive impact on our community.

This year I got my first job at Jamba. Jamba isn't an easy job, but with handwork and determination I got the hang of it. I really love all of my coworker they're all wonderful which makes the job way more enjoyable. I work very hard, and I love talking with customers. Recently, I started the cash register which makes me happy because it shows that I am trustworthy.
The KCS Red Cross is a club that helps the community, and our own school through humanitarian work. My role in Red cross is committee leader, and I help assist the president in guiding the other members in the right direction. We just started mapping, and mapping is where you can choose or get assigned a place in the world that has not yet been mapped; then you map it out. I will also be taking trainings on how to be a Red Cross presenter and that would allow me to present to elementary students how to pack an emergency bag, and what to do in case of a fire.
Peer Mediation is a program that allows students to help their peers resolve conflicts. I went to a 3 day training to be a certified mediator, and I have learned so much from being a mediator. I have been part of helping and seeing the results of peer mediation, and it's very satisfying.
I am part of the Student Government at KCS. I play a role on the committee for my advisory. The point of the role is to give feedback from the students points of view, and give more of a voice to my peers. There is a lot that goes into Student Government we plan and manage a lot of events, and ways for students to connect to one another.
I am on the Kihei dive team. I really enjoy this sport because it uses critical thinking, problem solving skills, and listening skills. This sport is a lot harder than I thought it would be but it's very satisfying when I get a new skill. My hope with this sport is to go to states and maybe even nationals. I would love to get a scholarship for college through diving. |
