This poem was using all of the figurative languages that we had learned throughout the quarter. This poem was based off of a George Ella Lyon poem. The basis of the poem is following a format that then represents who you are and where you came from.
Why I'm most proud of this project/21st Century Skills
I am so proud of this poem because I love poetry and when I presented it to my mom I could tell it brought her joy. My end result surprised me with how much I love it! The 21st century skill that represented this project is thinking and problem solving skill because this poem was formatted a certain way, you had to use specific figurative language, and add personal information. Then adding all three of those concepts challenged me to work through every creative struggle. This made me become a more creative writer and thinker.
How I could improve/what was difficult
I could improve on my process through making my poem. I was incredibly negative which made it much harder to come up with a great poem. What was difficult was coming up with the write words the convey what I wanted to say while being poetic.
How does this relate to the past/how can I apply it to the future
This relates to what I learned in the past through showcasing all of the figurative languages that I learned in one poem. Also through showing my improved creative writing skills. I can apply this to the future through utilizing new writing skills for future papers, and writings.
